Partners with WorkFocus Australia
WorkFocus Australia would like to announce a new partnership with Burswood Entertainment Complex.
Burswood has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to increase the number of job vacancies available to people with disability registered with Disability Employment Services through the National Disability Recruitment Coordinator (NDRC), a service managed by the Australian Government by WorkFocus Australia.
Burswood has over 4,600 employees working within diverse and dynamic roles. It is the largest single-site private sector employer in Western Australia and it also acts as a registered training organisation.
Burswood Entertainment Complex is located in Perth, Western Australia and it includes a 24-hour casino, twenty two restaurants and bars, seven restaurants, eight bars, a nightclub, two international hotels, a Convention Centre, Theatre and the Burswood Dome.
Burswood’s Chief Executive Officer Barry Felstead said that Burswood placed high importance on fair employment opportunities for all groups, and was proud to form a new partnership with the NDRC.
“Today is a milestone day for Burswood, and we look forward to working closely with the NDRC to proactively promote and implement this important program. Burswood has a strong diversity policy and is fully committed to providing real and sustainable job opportunities for those with disability. Gainful employment can have a very positive impact on an individual and a family, and we will work with the NDRC to fully maximise successful placements at Burswood,” said Mr Felstead.
The NDRC is now assisting Burswood Entertainment Complex to implement strategies and practices to employ people with disability as well as support and develop existing staff to welcome people with disability as colleagues.
WorkFocus Australia also manages JobAccess; a free, confidential telephone service providing information and expert advice to employers about recruiting and working with people with disability.
WorkFocus Australia and the NDRC would like to congratulate Burswood Entertainment Complex for its commitment to providing more opportunities for people with disability, and for understanding and embracing that employing people with disability makes good business sense.
